The 2025 Walk to End Epilepsy event in Alabama will take place on Sat., Nov. 1, 2025! Join us at Railroad Park in Birmingham where we will be walking to raise awareness in our community. Get your purple gear ready and plan on making life-lasting memories, worthwhile connections, and hear empowering stories from epilepsy warriors, important messages from Epilepsy Foundation staff and more!

The Safe Summer Series is happening on November 2nd, and we are going out with a BANG! Enjoy the smooth sounds of NEXT along with several local artisits!

Join us at Railroad Park starting at 5 PM for an unforgettable experience, brought to you by Councilor Smitherman! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and come hungry with your favorite food trucks serving up all the goods!

The vehicle, called BPL Mobile, is far more than a traditional bookmobile. On BPL Mobile, patrons are able to take advantage of many services available in libraries across Birmingham such as:

• Books
• Computers
• Free Wi-Fi
• Citizen services such as notarizing, and printing
• Programs and activities such as library story times and STEM

BPL Mobile vehicle is a result of a collaboration between BPL and the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA), and local developer Ed Ticheli. In 2021, the BJCTA d
onated a para-transit bus to BPL, allowing the library system to provide mobile library services by bookmobile to the 99 neighborhoods of the City of Birmingham. This valuable service is an innovative approach to bridging the digital divide and expanding citizen services to underserved communities.

Presented by UAB Veteran Services, this annual event directly benefits the UAB Veteran Relief Fund. This award aids veteran and dependent students who may need help purchasing books, finding housing, seeking medical care, and much more.
