Get Healthy on the Railroad Cooking Classes Sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama
Get Healthy on the Railroad sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama returns in 2024 to offer six healthy nutrition classes at Railroad Park. Classes are led by local chefs on the Regions Bank 17th Street Plaza. Cooking classes will take place once a month on select Sundays, April - September. Classes begin at 3:30 pm, and registration opens 30 minutes prior.

- April 28th - Chef Jonathan Harrison, Private Chef
- May 19th - Chef Alaynna Pruitt, Healthy Foodie Bakery
- June 23rd - Chef Ama Shambulia, A Beautiful Life Enterprises
- July 28th - Chef Joseph Mitchell, Jefferson State Community College
- August 25th - Chef Jennifer Conn, Food Integrated Training
- September 22nd - Chef Kimberly McNair, Bitty’s Living Kitchen
Local chefs will offer cooking demonstrations and take-home recipes. The first 100 households to register receive a parcel of free produce sourced through Piggly Wiggly, that can be used to replicate the recipe at home.
